Why this matters
This firm is putting structure around firm-wide AI use. A meaningful marker of where the firm's capability is heading.
Axinn will let associates earn up to 100 hours of billable credit for AI training and other AI-related work through Nov 30, the end of its bonus year, according to an internal email Reuters viewed. Chief innovation officer Rachael Philbin said the credit coincides with new enterprise AI tools and aims to incentivize innovation. The same Reuters piece reports Ropes & Gray lets first-years put up to 20% of required hours (nearly 400) toward AI and all associates and counsel up to 100 hours, and that Akerman and Holtzman Vogel also give credit.
