Barnes & Thornburg names 38 AI Practice Champions to embed AI across all practice groups
Barnes & ThornburgBarnes & Thornburg (850+ lawyers, 26 markets) announced that 38 attorneys across the firm are now serving as dedicated AI Practice Champions, embedding AI directly into how lawyers practice rather than treating it as a standalone capability. Nearly 90% of the firm's attorneys are actively using AI, with more than 1,000 users logged into Harvey since firmwide deployment and over 150,000 prompts submitted across the firm's AI platforms (Harvey, CoCounsel, and ChatBT, the firm's internal general AI portal) in the past 30 days alone. The Practice Champions work alongside the firm's AI Industry Group to create a feedback loop between deployed tools and the attorneys/clients using them.
""We are clear-eyed about where the market is. AI is evolving quickly. Clients are still learning. So are we. The Practice Champions give us a direct connection between the tools we deploy and the attorneys using them on behalf of clients — and that connection is invaluable as we continue to evaluate, expand, and refine what we offer." — Joan Holman, Chief Information Officer, Barnes & Thornburg"
