Greetings GW LFM colleagues,

The Alumni networking session originally scheduled for February 17 was cancelled due to a polar vortex sweeping across the country.  Now rescheduled for March 17, 2:00 – 3:00 EST. 

Hopefully, you were able to participate in the recent January 20th session on The State of the Legal Market:  Navigating through Covid-19 with master storyteller, Jim Jones.

This was the third GW LFM networking session.  If you have not been able to join us previously, we hope you will participate in our next online gathering on March 17 at 2:00 p.m. EST.

This group has come together in an effort to facilitate networking and  continuing education for all students of the GW LFM degree program. As a group, we hold a unique position in the legal industry and continue to influence and direct progress in legal operations across the globe. True Value Partnering Institute (TVPi) has graciously agreed to provide administrative support for this initiative.

On March 17, we will hold a facilitated zoom networking session to better understand the needs and interests of this group. We welcome your active participation and ideas.

Past topics have included:

Pricing in Crisis presented by David Harnett, Chief Pricing & Value Officer at Evershed Sutherland

Leading during an Existential Crisis presented by James R. Bailey, Professor of Managment at GW School of Business

Here are a few ideas for discussion regarding possible  future topics:

- The new normal after COVID-19—maintaining market position in a changed global economy

- Disruption brings opportunity—the wave of change sweeping the sector

- Leading change and driving innovation when making a difference matters

- The conversations you should have with clients to work together to enhance value delivery

- Realigning operations to the post-COVID-19 environment

- Getting ahead in data and AI to drive competitive advantage

- The new value dimension—preparing for possible lower demand and price pressure; selling services when buyers may have the price pendulum

- Restructuring under pressure—redesign decreased business areas into profit stabilization and practice power-alleys into profit rockets

- Using legal project management to deliver greater efficiency and bond closer with clients

- Macro-economics and the roadmap for 2021
