Industry Veterans Join In-House Cohort Leadership

The Institute is pleased to introduce Rebecca Benavides, Microsoft's Director of Legal Business, and Justin Ergler, GlaxoSmithKline's Director of Alternative Fee Intelligence and Analytics, as new co-leaders of the In-House Cohort.  They will replace Obie Ogene, who has moved on to a new role at his company, and will join Lisa Khan (Alexion Pharmaceuticals) in leading the cohort.  While he will remain a friend of the Institute, we thank Obie for his efforts and wish him well.

Lisa Khan Rebecca Benavides Justin Ergler

Rebecca has been with TVPi since its inception and has participated as both an in-house and law firm member.   Prior to joining Microsoft, she was a member of the LPM Leaders Cohort, during which time she led the direction and implementation of the firm’s pricing and project management programs in the U.S. for Norton Rose Fulbright.  She also served on the senior leadership team of Thomson Reuters’ LPO subsidiary.  One of a handful of professionals who have experience on both sides of the "fence", she is certain to bring a unique perspective and will continue to foster cross-cohort collaboration, which remains a primary goal of the Institute.

Justin, returns to his roots, as he previously served as co-leader during the cohort's formative years.   Justin’s groundbreaking work of implementing a strategy to transition GlaxoSmithKline’s high-value legal engagements to non-hourly, value-based fee agreements has been immortalized the Harvard Business School case study “GlaxoSmithKline: Sourcing Complex Professional Services” (HBS 9-414-003).  He is a frequent speaker on leading alternative fee arrangements and strategic sourcing of legal services.

Please join us in welcoming Rebecca and welcoming back Justin.  Also be on the lookout for announcements on upcoming programming content from Lisa, Rebecca, and Justin.  As always, once released, programming will be also be available on the TVPi Cohort page (link).
